Playtime

It's all about the playtime!

Playtime

One of the essential experiences for a pet to be happy at their home away from home is playtime!  The collage above shows some of our boarders enjoying their playtime!  Each pet gets hands-on attention and playtime each day, so that each day is fun and a new experience.  Our play yards are bordered by the horse, goat and pony pastures...

Can I bring toys, a bed or other items for my pet’s stay?

  • Yes, you may bring toys and a bed but remember that we can not be responsible for it if your pet tears it up so we would rather that you do not bring anything that you don't want messed up. We do supply a Kuranda Hammock for your pets comfort and can supply a blanket for added pleasure. However, I do not allow Rawhide Chews and anything that we do not deem safe will be returned to you when your pet is picked up.

Do I bring my pet’s food or do you feed them what you have?

  • Yes, we would like for you to bring your pets food as we do not want any tummy upsets which changing foods can cause.

What’s it like for my pet to stay at Happy Paws Pet Boarding?

  • The runs vary from 4 x 4 inside with a 4 x 12 outside run to a 5 x 16 inside with a 4 x 12 outside run.  We like to utilize the larger kennels for multi-family pets and larger pets but if they are empty when your pet is here or becomes empty, we will let your pet have the larger kennel until we need it again.  Itinerary:

    • 8:00  a.m.  Breakfast is served

    • 12:00  Playtime

    • 3:30 p.m.   Dinner is served

    • 9:00 p.m.   Doggy Doors are closed and time for bed

    • 11:00 p.m  - 12:00  Lights out and all is quiet

For my dog, how often can they go outside?

  • Your pet will have free access to go outside via the doggy door from 7:30 a.m. until approx. 9:00 p.m. The outside runs are covered to protect your pet from the elements so outside weather can be enjoyed 365 days a year.

What’s Playtime like?

  • Playtime can be outside in the very large play yard or on rainy or excessively cold days in the workroom/ kitchen.  Outside, your pet can see the goats, ponies and pot-bellied pig. Someone will be out with your pet and we may let other pets go out and play at the same time as long as they all get along. We have one very special German Shepherd Dog that loves most all other animals so we use her to play with visitors.  Usually we will take a camera out and take pictures of your pet to pass along to you via text while you are away.

What happens during the nighttime hours at Happy Paws Pet Boarding?

  • Someone is out in the kennel until approximately 12 midnight. After that, it is quiet time and everyone sleeps in until 7:30 a.m. We do have cameras throughout the whole kennel for security purposes.
